چکیده
This paper provides an exhaustive characterization of testability and identi ability issues in the collective framework in the absence of price variation; it thus provides a theoretical underpinning for a number of empirical works that have been developed recently. We rst provide a simple and general test of the Pareto e¢ ciency hypothesis, which is consistent with all possible assumptions on the private or public nature of goods, all possible consumption externalities between household members, and all types of interdependent individual preferences and domestic production technology. The test is proved to be necessary and su¢ cient. We then provide conditions for the identi cation of the sharing rule and the Engel curves of individual household members for a variety of di¤erent observational schemes. متن کاملE¢ cient responses to targeted cash transfers
The unitary model has been rejected many times. In this paper, we start from one such rejection in the context of rural Mexico and propose a test of one of the main alternatives to the unitary model, the so called collective model, a model that assumes that intrahousehold allocations, however, determined, are e¢ cient. The test we propose requires the consideration of a demand system with at le...

Building the Family Nest: Pre-Marital Investments, Marriage Markets and Spousal Allocations We develop a model of the household in which spousal incomes are determined by premarital investments, the marriage market is characterized by assortative matching, and endogenously-determined sharing rules form the basis of intra-household allocations. By incorporating pre-marital investments and spousa...
متن کاملSECURING INTERPRETABILITY OF FUZZY MODELS FOR MODELING NONLINEAR MIMO SYSTEMS USING A HYBRID OF EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHMS
In this study, a Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is utilized to extract interpretable and compact fuzzy rule bases for modeling nonlinear Multi-input Multi-output (MIMO) systems. In the process of non- linear system identi cation, structure selection, parameter estimation, model performance and model validation are important objectives. Furthermore, se- curing low-level and high-level ...
متن کاملIdentifying asymmetric, multi-period Euler equations estimated by non-linear IV/GMM
In this article, the identi...cation of instrumental variables and generalized method of moment (GMM) estimators with multi-period perceptions is discussed. The state space representation delivers a conventional ...rst order condition that is solved for expectations when the Generalized Bézout Theorem holds. Here, it is shown that although weak instruments may be enough to identify the paramete...
